Vive Recipe Series (3/5): Perk Up Your Porridge

Our Gran always told us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and although when we were young we liked to put our hands over our ears and stick our tongue out, as we've grown up, we've come to realise that she was right all along (as always)!

However, forget any of those high-sugar cereals that populate our shelves but leave you feeling hungry by 11am, porridge is the best way to start your day as it's high in fibre, helps to lower cholesterol and releases energy slowly throughout the day so you won't start feeling sluggish during that boring mid-morning meeting. Your body also needs protein to get your muscles functioning properly, repair any damaged tissue and nourish with vital nutrients such as amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

So what better way to start your day than with a bowl of heart-warming porridge perked up with some of our smooth and natural protein powder?

Simply mix your oats with your favourite milk or water, mix in your natural protein powder (you might want to do a little jiggle here) and add in whatever you like! Our good friend Mo (@moeatsveggies) has done the hard work for us on this one and like him, you could add some chunks of anti-oxidant dark chocolate, sliced summer strawberries or the ever-so-popular passionfruit. 

 

What You’ll Need:

2 Scoops of Vive Protein Power

25g x Porridge Oats

3 x Green & Black’s Dark Chocolate Chunks

Handful of raisins

Handful of Fresh Strawberries
