December Flavour of the Month - Charity & Flavour

It's time to whack out those Christmas Jumpers and decorate those trees - for 'tis the season!

And that also means, it's time to say hello to December's Flavour of the Month: Gingerbread!

Gingerbread is a quintessential part of the ‘holiday season’, and this spicy sweet treat is sure to please. Our signature Belgian dark chocolate coating with subtle spices, chewy centre and a dash of almond chunks; comforting comes to mind when enjoying our limited-edition gingerbread bar.

It's a great honour to also announce our charity of the month - Eden's Trust!

Eden’s Trust (registered as Eden Galvani Trust) is a small Charity with a very big heart with Elli at the centre of the cause. Elli, sadly, lost her 6 year old daughter Eden, when a hotel entertainment stunt went horribly wrong and sent fireballs into the audience. Eden suffered 70% burns and died 2 days later.

Elli had no one to talk to or support her.  She felt alone and was in a very dark place.  Turning this horrific tragedy into something positive, Elli, started Eden’s Trust. 10 years later our 3 highly skilled specialised counsellors continue to provide bereavement counselling to parents, siblings and families following the devastating loss of a child/ sibling or a close family member.   We pride ourselves, as we remain a completely free service and all our funds are raised by our own fund raising events and donation from our supporters. 

Our support is on hand immediately when it is needed the most and we help families, parents and siblings by providing them with 1:1 guided therapy.  We also run monthly drop-in groups, together with workshops and activities.  We mentor young children and we mediate for families where necessary.  Our coping strategies have proven time and time again how much families have benefitted from our help.

Our help is needed more than ever now given the increased deaths.  We are currently working closely with schools and supporting bereaved children, of all ages, at school.

Eden’s Trust has a dedicated team and our work is driven by our team's compassion and dedication, many of whom have suffered loss themselves. All our trustees and volunteers work for the charity for free, offering their time and support outside of working hours and on weekends.

Eden’s Trust’s aim is to help get bereaved families to the other side of bereavement – to find their equilibrium.
